Hundreds gather at Catalyst137 to hear from GRH experts

More than 200 health experts, technology professionals, academics and community members joined us for GRH’s annual community meeting on November 15. The theme focused on research and innovation and the partnerships that make these projects possible.

“Research and innovation at Grand River Hospital is about the pursuit of better care, better health and better living,” explained Dr. Tina Mah, Vice-President of Research and Innovation.

To help demonstrate this, Dr. Darren Knibutat, Chief and Medical Director of Medical Imaging, described a few of the key advancements in medical imaging, including RFA and TACE which is improving care for patients with liver cancer in Waterloo Wellington.

This was the first event of its kind to be held at Catalyst137 and the audience was formally welcomed by Kurtis McBride, CEO of Miovision – the building’s first tenant.
