Diagnostic Assessment Unit
Diagnostic Assessment Units (DAUs) provide our community with:
- Onsite support from many team members within a clinic setting (including a surgeon, radiologist, pathologist, oncologist, technologist and nurses)
- This team works together to provide assessment, obtain blood work and testing, followed by diagnosis and treatment
There are different kinds of DAUs at Grand River Hospital. They are:
- Skin DAU – located at GRRCC
- Breast DAU – to be located at Freeport Health Centre (coming December 2006!)
- Thoracic DAU – to be located at GRRCC (coming soon!)
Care provided at these units supports the patients and their families in their journey. DAUs focus on improving access to care that meets the needs of the individual.
