Diane Wolfenden is Chair of the Board of Governors and has been a member since 2010. Currently Diane is also a member of the Governance Committee.

As an experienced Investment Advisor with RBC Dominion Securities, Diane brings a wealth of knowledge to her governance roles. She is a member of the Investment Committee with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation.

Steve Currie has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2012 and is Vice Chair and Chair Elect. He is part of both the Marketing and Communications and Governance Committees. Steve is the VP Strategy of Communitech. He has more than 20 years of experience in technology and marketing.

Steve has held senior marketing and business development roles in multinationals such as Reynolds & Reynolds and Open Text, and start ups and emerging companies such as Miovision, Northern Digital Inc. and Handshake VR. Steve takes an active role in the community and is also a board member of KidsAbility.

Seth Jutzi joined the Board of Governors in 2016 and is Vice Chair. He is Chair of the Governance Committee. Seth brings a collaborative approach to deconstructing legal and business issues in pursuit of innovative and better business outcomes for his corporate and commercial clients at Sorbara Law.

Seth is pleased to contribute his time, professional expertise, and leadership to charities focused on affordable housing in addition to his new role on the GRHF Board of Governors.

Jennifer Psutka is the Treasurer of GRHF’s Board of Governors and Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. She has been a Board Governor since 2013. Jennifer is a Partner in the Assurance Group at PwC as well as the South Western Ontario Technology Leader. She is also a volunteer board member for local organizations supporting important social services in Waterloo Region.

Jennifer is passionate about working with technology and entertainment companies and is excited to have spent the majority of her professional career serving these businesses at all stages of their life.

Tracey Bailey brings more than 30 years of fundraising expertise, communications savvy and non-profit sector leadership to GRHF. Tracey is Secretary of GRHF’s Board of Governors.

Tracey spent 20 years in non-profit management consulting working with more than 50 charities across the country. She started working in health care philanthropy 10 years ago. In her career, Tracey has directed eight capital campaigns with goals ranging from $3M to $500M.

As a volunteer Tracey trains and coaches young professionals and board directors in the non-profit sector and with a number of organizations to alleviate poverty in our community and in our world.

Linda Barlow joined the Board of Governors in 2015 and is a member of the Governance Committee. Linda is Vice-President, Human Resources at Flanagan Foodservice, Canada’s largest independent foodservice distributor with six locations across Ontario.

As a Certified Human Resources Leader and accomplished global HR executive, Linda has built many high performing human resources teams while successfully delivering HR programs and services that support ever changing organizational needs.

Aaron joined the Board in 2017 and is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee. Aaron brings more than 10 years of experience working with high-tech firms as an investor, operator and service provider in Waterloo Region. In his current role, Aaron deploys seed capital to innovative startups and actively manages over 20 early stage investments for the MaRS Investment Accelerator Fund.

Prior to that, he spent five years at Miovision Technologies as CFO and worked closely with the founders to raise venture capital investment, grow revenue by 10 times, add two new lines of business, expand internationally and triple the size of the team. Aaron started his career at Ernst & Young LLP where he earned his CPA designation. He also volunteers as a member of the Laurier Startup Fund’s Investment Committee.

Mark Bingeman joined the Board of Governors in 2016. He is Chair of both the Annual Giving and Special Events Committee and The Grand Golf Committee . After holding a variety of managerial positions with both Marriott and Hyatt Hotel Corporations throughout the United States, Mark returned home in 1994 and joined the family firm, Bingemans Inc. In 2004, Mark assumed the helm of Bingemans Inc. and has continually maintained an active hands-on approach to the business.

Mark has served in other community organizations including: Kitchener Conestoga Rotary Club, Member, Young Presidents Organization, Chapter Chair, Canada Regional Council, Member, and the City of Kitchener Economic Development Committee.

Jonathan Dunlop joined the Board in 2017 and is a member of the Finance and Audit Committee. He is a corporate/technology lawyer currently heading the legal, risk and privacy department at Vidyard. He has a background in corporate law, general litigation and accounting.

Prior to attending law school at the University of Ottawa, Jonathan graduated from the B.B.A. program at Wilfrid Laurier. He recently also completed his Master of Laws at York University. Jonathan is passionate and actively involved in the tech space and revitalization of downtown Kitchener.

Jack joined the Board in 2017 and brings more than 40 years of knowledge and experience in marketing, sales, and executive leadership in the insurance industry. Jack has a track record of building and transforming career sales forces that increase productivity. He led the largest and most productive careers sales force in Canada with Sun Life Financial.

Jack has been an engaged volunteer sharing his time and expertise over the years with several community and health care non-profit organizations in Canada including The Canadian Diabetes Association, Research Ethics Board of University of Waterloo, Junior Achievement, and Serenity Renewal for Families, YMCA and Women’s Employment Counseling Services.

Jeff Horst joined the Board of Governors in 2015 and is Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee. He is Co-Founder and Business Development Manager at Echosims Inc., where his team combines strategy management, website development and creative advertising campaigns to deliver marketing value for clients. At Echosims Inc., Jeff works to understand individual business needs and develops realistic, working strategies for sustainable growth.

As an active member of the community, Jeff is involved with many charity events including the Family. Hockey. Food event in support of The Waterloo Region Food Bank, Ignite Charity and Rock the Bear. He also created 29Leaps, using social media to inspire people to put others first.

Conway Fraser is a member of the Board of Governors and the Marketing and Communications Committee. He brings 25 years of media knowledge and experience as a Gemini Award-winning and former CBC investigative journalist and national reporter. As founder and partner of Fraser Torosay, Conway uses his expertise to assist companies, organizations, and leaders to overcome their communications challenges by helping them tell their stories effectively and strategically.

Conway is involved in the area sharing his expertise as an advisor to numerous tech companies and volunteering with several community non-profit organizations.

Rose Johnson joined the Board of Governors in 2016 and is a member of the Governance Committee. As a partner based in Gowling WLG’s Waterloo Region office, Rose Johnson assists individuals, business owners and multi-generational families with developing and implementing estate plans.

Rose is active in her community, both personally and professionally. She is a sought-after speaker on estate planning, making regular presentations on the topic to financial institutions, at private client events, and to members of charitable organizations. She is currently devoting her energies to helping women and children as a board member of the YWCA of Kitchener-Waterloo as well as with GRHF.

Malcolm Maxwell has been president and CEO of Grand River Hospital since May 2007. His career has included CEO roles in hospitals in Nova Scotia and in the health authorities in Alberta and British Columbia. He has also held senior health ministry roles in the Yukon Territory and Nova Scotia.

Sara joined the Board of Governors in 2012 and is a member of the Marketing and Communications Committee. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge from the insurance sector as well as dedication, a philanthropic heart, and passion for the community. Sara’s strengths include client engagement initiatives, communications, sales development, marketing, and overall business strategies.

Sara sits on a number of not for profit boards in addition to GRHF’s and is currently serving as Chair of the Haven House campaign for Women’s Crisis Services Waterloo Region.

Rainer Mueller has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2012. He is the Chair of The Grand Ride Committee and a member of the Annual Giving and Special Events Committee. A recognized leader, Rainer is a Principal at Mount Seven Group Inc.

He has a track record of shaping and directing organizations by implementing strategic vision that drive companies forward. His field of expertise includes executive level leadership, development strategy, project management, operations’ systems review and site selection.

His expertise is in demand as a mentor and board member for several start-up and scale-up firms advising on growth strategies and corporate development.

Sandra Stone joined the Board in 2017 and is a member of the Annual Giving and Special Events Committee. She is the General Manager of Conestoga Mall of almost 20 years.  She brings 30 years of management and marketing experience from serving in various positions in the commercial real estate industry across the country and holds three professional designations with the International Council of Shopping Centres.  She is also on the faculty of ICSC’s school for retail real estate management.

Sandra is a member of the City of Waterloo’s Economic Development Advisory Committee and involved in the Regional and Municipal Affairs Committee with the Greater Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber of Commerce. She has been involved with various community organizations including: K-W Oktoberfest’s Advisory Council, WRDSB Fast Forward Program on the Retail and Business Support Services Sector Advisory Council and the CIBC Run for the Cure organizing committee as well as support of several fundraising events.

Mary Ann Wenzler-Wiebe joined the Board of Governors in April 2014 and is Chair of the Grants and Stewardship Committee. As Vice President, Financing and Consulting, Business Development at Bank of Canada (BDC), Mary Ann is a detailed oriented manager with a wealth of commercial lending experience and passionate about helping small businesses succeed.

She manages the South Western Ontario district which covers St. Catharines Niagara, Hamilton, Kitchener –Waterloo, Stratford, London & Windsor.  Mary Ann has volunteered her time with a number of organizations in the cities where she has lived, including the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation in London and the Hotel Dieu Hospital Foundation in Windsor.
