When a cancer diagnosis touches someone’s life, everything changes. Life almost stands still. And eventually, it can inspire us to give back. That was the experience for Dr. Brace and his team at Guelph Facial Plastics, who rallied six local clinics in support of breast cancer care at Grand River Hospital this past fall. 

For local business owner Paul Guenette, giving back and supporting the community has always been important to him. Now, as the owner of the newly expanded CertaPro Painters in the Waterloo Region, he and his team are making a difference right here by partnering with Grand River Hospital in support of Scotland’s Yard and the vision to enhance kids’ health care in Kitchener-Waterloo.

“It seemed like a perfect fit in terms of our personal objectives as well as what would resonate with our customers and our staff,” Paul says of the new partnership. He also has his own personal connection to the cause that drives his passion for supporting children’s health care.

Last month, the 12th annual Harold Esbaugh Memorial Golf Tournament supported Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, raising more than $51,000. And over the past 12 years, they’ve raised an incredible grand total of $430,622.46.

It’s the eighth year Rich Peers and his team will be holding the Run/Walk for GRRCC, and this year they’re fundraising for a second stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) board for Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.
