I received a call from someone saying they worked on behalf of Grand River Hospital Foundation. Is this legitimate?

We are calling our donors during the months of July and August to thank them for their support and ask them to consider giving again. Our needs at GRH are growing and we hope you will help support your local hospital.

Are the callers volunteers or employees of Grand River Hospital?

The caller you speak to is an employee of HCB Communications – a reputable company we’ve partnered with to help complete the calls. For more information about HCB Communications visit their website

Why am I being asked to donate?

We value every single gift and thank you if you have made a donation in the past. We are asking our donors to consider making monthly donations because as our amazing region grows, so do the needs in our hospital. We need your support to help fund vital equipment, renovations, ground-breaking medical research, staff training and medical education and patient support programs.

Is this the first time Grand River Hospital Foundation has asked for donations over the phone?

Every other year we call our donors to present different options for making their annual gift. Our most recent calling campaign was in 2015.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?

Yes. If you are an existing monthly donor or sign up to become one you will receive a tax receipt once a year for your donations.

What time of day could I expect a call?

You may receive a call between 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays and between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

How long will the calling campaign last?

The calling campaign will start on Monday, July 31 and end on Friday, August 25.
