Dorothys Best Bowling Tournament

The 10th annual Friends of Dorothy Bowling Tournament on March 14th helped support the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre as well as ACCKWA. With more then 30 teams and over 100 bowlers, the 2009 tournament helped raise $2200 for the GRRCC. This is one of the liveliest and fun crowds weve had the joy of working with!

Fashion N Motion

The students of the Wilfrid Laurier University put together an amazing show called Fashion N Motion. It is a high-quality dance production, which incorporates dancing, fashion, modelling and an array of different talents combined into one amazing show! With a Dance-off and a 12 hour Dance-a-thon leading up to their spring show held over 3 days, the students were able to raise $1699.42 for the Cancer Centre. Thanks for all your hard work!

Bald Is Beautiful Campaign

Thank you to Dee Constant, who single-handedly ran a year long campaign to raise money for Bald Is Beautiful in support of the 2009 KoolFM Poster Boy campaign. With much enthusiasm, Dee held many events to help reach her goal. BBQs, a Walkathon, Birdhouse Kits, Yard Sale, Santas Coal, and an Austrian Dinner and silent auction, all led up to the April 24th finale shaving her head.  Along with support from the Williamsburg Home Hardware and Dees family and friends, Dee was able to raise over $13000 for this years Poster Boy campaign. Thank you for your dedication and hard work this past year!

The Waterloo Ravens Atom B Rep Hockey Team

The Waterloo Ravens Atom B rep hockey team have been raising money for the Waterloo Wellington Breast Centre this hockey season by scoring points! Every goal and assist, plus every shut out by our goalie, raised $5. After every game the girls were thrilled to place a pink ribbon sticker on the fundraising chart. At the end of the season- which ended last weekend at a tournament in Brampton (where the picture was taken), the team raised a whopping total of $825.

Chicopee Tube Park

The Chicopee Tube Park held their 2nd annual Family Fun night on Feb 15, raising $2635.75 for childrens services at GRH. With the perfect weather, about 218 people came out on to enjoy a fun filled night of tubing. Rudy from 91.5 The Beat was on hand throughout the night promoting the hotdogs and hamburgers available on the patio, as well as the silent auction in the seating area.

Eat to Beat Cancer

Thanks to event organizer Rachel Paquette, the Eat to Beat Cancer event held January 10, 2009 was a huge success. Held at the Swiss Chalet on Weber St. in Waterloo, this annual event helped raise $4688 towards the 2009 Poster Boy Campaign which will be take place April 24-28th this year.
