Hearts, Arts and Healing: An Art Show Supporting Mental Health

Seven local artists are exhibiting their work in the upcoming Hearts, Arts and Healing art show presented by Art$Pay. The show is about how artists express trauma and the healing power of the artistic practice and results and features the work of Catherine Mellinger, Claire Donnison, Esther Slevinsky, Jim Blomfield, Michael ManChoi Chow, Roshan James, and Roslyn Ramsay.

Located in Waterloo Region, Art$Pay connects visual art practitioners with opportunities, community, and advocates for fair pay. In alignment with their value of connecting with community, proceeds from the art pieces sold at Hearts, Arts and Healing will support Mental Health at Grand River Hospital.

One in five Canadians will experience mental illness each year, and the remaining four in five will know and love someone who does. That's why, with the help of our incredible supporters and working in partnership with patients and their loved ones, community partners and interdisciplinary hospital teams, Grand River is proud to play a critical role in both youth and adult mental health care in our community.

Support our local arts and health care by attending their weekly viewing times from now until March 11, 2023 at 44 Gaukel Street, Kitchener.
